The founder of Mount Pleasant, Dr Tan Hwa Luck, graduated as a Veterinarian from the University of Glasgow in 1960. Being one of the countrys first qualified vets, he contributed to the initial growth of the animal veterinary trade in Singapore, by starting out with the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority. He later began a humble practice in 1978 at Goodwood Road; the first animal hospital in Singapore.
