MotherNeeds started out when I realized the importance of breastfeeding and the benefits associated with extended breastfeeding. I wanted to nurse our first son (we now have 2) for as long as we both are comfortable with it (he weaned at 2-1/2 years old). As much as I wanted to breastfeed, I did not like being confined to our home.

My attempt to shop for discreet nursing wear, yield very few options for nursing wear that were both beautiful and and affordable. Hence, I decided to make gorgeous and affordable nursing wear available to all moms. With valuable help from family in Singapore and Indonesia, MotherNeeds was successfully created.

Our clothes are designed by myself with inputs from close friends and family (especially my mother, who looks incredible on any given day). We contracted a few seamstress friends who, as fellow mothers, share the same understanding of a typical parenting schedule - juggling motherhood and work commitments. With this, our clothes were finally lovingly produced.

When you wear our apparel, you can take comfort in knowing that our designs have been tried and tested by mothers. Additionally, I personally enjoy sharing my breastfeeding experience, so fellow moms can benefit by avoiding some of the mistakes I made, in order to attain success at breastfeeding. I hope that the creation of MotherNeeds will positively contribute to the lives of all nursing mothers. All the best to mothering!
